Interview with area’s reference librarian

When I met with the librarian I also talked to her about the major sources and research guide in engineering. She explained to me that there were many of them out there but FGCU subscribes to a couple big named ones. She led me through our FGCU website to show me how to get to the reference sources. We went to (FGCU ENGINEERING WEBSITE) and then from there you could click on the tabs on the top of the page that say,
* Bioengineering
* Civil Engineering
* Environmental Engineering

From each one of these tabs it gave you databases that you would use for each major. For example, she explained to me that if I clicked on Bioengineering and then scrolled until I saw the database named "BIOSCIENCEnetBASE (E-books)" that this was one of the most frequently used databases for a bioengineering major. For the Civil Engineering tab, the main database was "ENGnetBASE", and lastly for the environmental engineering tab, the main database was "ENVIROnetBASE". She explained to me that each one of the databases with "BASE" in them, were online books (eBooks). These are the most popular because it’s a book forum on the internet.
