Substantial Grading
Instead of interviewing a professor on certain engineering requirments during college I interviewed my father who gave a good amount of information to help me out. I asked him if he remembered any big projects or paper he had to do for a professor of his and he knew exaclty which one he remembered. He said he had to spend half a summer working on a design project. Physically going out onto a field and measuring out certain areas and testing certain places to figure out the layout of his blueprint and how he would attack this project. He was paired with 5 other students and they worked together to find the best outcomes. The major portion his professor told him to work on was the "slabs", so it could properly hold weights of those walking around inside the future warehouse. My dad said his favorite portion of the project was doing the survey on the property, main and basic layout's. At the end of the 6 weeks, him and his group along with 5 other groups had to present their finding and blueprints to the class. The presentation was constructed with displaying blueprints and verbal finding. He said it was a great learning experience.
